The European Union, through the Valencian Institute of Competitiveness and Innovation (IVACE+i), has financially supported Aerox Advanced Polymers for the implementation of the R&D project: “Leading Edge Protection System for Wind Turbine Blades Based on Renewable Raw Materials” (project reference INNEST/2024/46).

The main objective of the project is the development of a new leading edge protection system for wind turbine blades, consisting of a putty and a polymeric coating formulated using renewable and/or bio‑based raw materials, aimed at improving the performance and durability of current commercial systems.

In parallel, the project includes the research and development of advanced computational models, intended to define a predictive tool for assessing the performance of the developed materials, enabling further optimisation under erosion and harsh environmental conditions.

This project strengthens Aerox Advanced Polymers’ commitment to innovation and sustainability, contributing to the development of more efficient technological solutions for the wind energy sector and supporting the transition towards materials with a reduced environmental footprint.
