Investors of Tech Transfer UPV, fund promoted by the Social Council of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the manager Clave Major, have injected half a million euros in Aerox Advanced Polymers, company dedicated to the development of polymers for the wind industry.
This is the third round that closes this pioneering venture capital fund in its commitment to projects of technology transfer and entrepreneurship generated within a Public University to accompany them on their release to the market. This is its third invested since its beginning of activity in March 2016, after investments in Quibim and AWSensors.
With this financing, investors led by Tech Transfer UPV acquire a minority stake in Aerox. This company was established in 2014 as Spin-off of the company QMC Tecnología Química, specialized in the development of adhesives and coatings for different industrial sectors.
Aerox, which expects to bill three million euros this year, works to provide solutions to the erosion problems of the leading edge. This problem affects the maintenance and efficiency of wind turbine blades, which are progressively reaching a larger size to gain efficiency.
Aerox is led by Raúl Cortés and Enrique Cortés, both engineers from the UPV. Raúl is also a doctor from the UPV and an associate professor in the business organization department.
